Sibenik is a city located on the Croatian coast some 80 km north of Split. As it is positioned in the deep bay, it is one of the most naturally protected harbours on the Adriatic coast. Sibenik is the city less known to tourist than Dubrovnik and Split, although it has it's own personality and some great things to see and enjoy. The atmosphere in Sibenik is youthful and lively. Little streets lead to attractive squares where modern shop windows unite really nice with the fine and stylish architecture of the vanished centuries.

One of the things not to be missed in Sibenik is Sibenik’s cathedral - Cathedral Sveti Jakov, built back to 1434, is an important architectural Renaissance building in Croatia that is listed by Unesco World Heritage. The cathedral lies just underneath the fortress walls of the town in the old area of Sibenik . This cathedral was built by of lime stone and marble from the stone mason's Island of Brac in Croatia. The building itself was supervised by Juraj Dalmatinac and Nikola Firentinac, famous stone masters from Croatia. Sibenik's cathedral is one of the marvels of the Dalmatian Coast, not to be missed as well as the town hall, the churches of St. Barbara and St. Fran and many town squares, palaces, fortresses and other churches which are spread throughout the city.

The most popular cultural events in Sibenik is the International Child's Festival (last week in June and first week in July), the Summer Organ School (in the second half of August) and the Sibenik Summer. The Day of St. James (25th of July), the patron saint of the city, is festively commemorated too.

Tribunj is a small fishing village located between Zadar and Sibenik, with a population of 2000. Tribunj is full of historical and cultural heritage. The church of St. Nicolas was built in 1452 and is situated on the top of the hill that has an amazing view of the town and the many small islands surrounding the village. Old part of Tribunj is situated on a small island that was later connected to the mainland by a stone bridge. The new part of Tribunj stretches along the inlet of Rupa. The rich sea flora and fauna makes Tribunj an excellent choice swimming and taking an underwater safari. Traditional feasts, such as Tribunj Night and Fishermen's Night, are organized in the summer.

Primosten, with a population 1700, is a small harbor town located 30 km southeast of Sibenik. In the 16th century a bridge was constructed so as to connect the settlement on the islet with the mainland. The name “primosten” means “bridged over”. Surrounded by seven little islands, Primosten is a special gift from nature that leaves no one indifferent. The coves of Vela and Mala Raduca, Primosten and Peles feature large beaches.

Primosten ranks among the most picturesque small towns on the Adriatic, with a number of typical Mediterranean narrow streets in the old town core. Numerous cultural events and entertainment programs take place in the summer months, such as the Primosten fiesta and usages (the first week in August). Important religious feasts include the feast days of Our Lady of Loret (9th and 10th of May) and Our Lady of Porto (27th of July), when a big procession around the town and on the sea takes place.

Vodice is a coastal town located in a wide bay, 11 km northwest from the town of Sibenik. Zablace is a beautiful coastal town on the Adriatic sea located just 9 kilometers from the historic city of Sibenik and located near the well known hotel complex Solaris.

In Medieval times Zablace was well known for its salt works. Residents of Sibenik flocked to this seaside town to work in the salt works for trading and for their own consumption. Over time, the residents of Zablace slowly neglected the traditional production and exportation of the natural sea salt and ultimately production ceased. The areas where salt was once produced areknown as Velika Jezera (Big Lake) and Mala Solina (Small Salt Works). This area is rich in therapeutic mud used in healing various rheumatism.
